Senga landscape architecture is a design studio founded in 2001. Originally practicing in Whistler, we quickly grew and developed projects which have expanded to the Lower Mainland and beyond. We chose to be a ‘boutique style service’ firm with the principal, Senga Lindsay overseeing the development of every design vision with every client.
We have developed a portfolio of innovative design from residential to large scale master planning
We ally ourselves with some of the best planners , engineers and professionals who specialize in sustainable technologies and methodologies This maximizes the resources and experience we can bring to our clients and our designs.
Working in a mountain community like Whistler has helped us to understand the impact ‘lifestyle’ has on design. It’s taught us how to create special spaces and experiences for all people and at the core - an appreciation and understanding, and integration of sustainable processes and design.
Our Philosophy
SLA Inc. adopts the philosophy that "A site tells you what it wants to be." In short, a site will dictate its intended experience. Senga Lindsay, principal of SLA Inc., believes that landscape design should acknowledge and respect this philosophy.
There's no typical "SLA look" because experience has taught Senga that the key to creating successful landscape solutions is keeping an open mind to the unique needs of both clients and geography.
‘Beyond ‘Sustainability’
We believe that our society needs to move quickly beyond the belief that we need to ‘just’ achieve a balance between the natural and built environments -
In other words ‘Sustainability’ is no longer the ‘Status Quo.’ We must reverse the trend of land degradation and invite nature’s functions into a healthy interface with society.

Good design is attributed to positive and creative synergies developed with our clients. Our company is built on referrals and many of our clients have been with us since SLA Inc. beginnings.
