July 23/10 Senga's Vlog - Why is my Spinach bolting?
So early this year I planted this spinach called Baby Spinach 'Catalina' in early spring - April/May on edible green roof. Alas global warming is alive and well as our Vancouver weather was really rainy and cold. So the seeds sat in the ground for a month and at the first signs of warmer weather made a break for it and grew like crazy - enabling me to get a few salad bowl fulls of "Popeye's Secret Weapon.'
After that it was all downhill from there as July came out in full force - hot, sunny and dry. The result is what you will see in my vlog. The good and bad news is that fall is just around the corner for cool season veggie growing (not so good for us beach lovers!)
