July 30/10 Senga's Vlog - Why do my turnips bolt?

So early this year I planted Turnips 'Early Snowball' in early spring - April/May on my edible green roof.

But cool weather and rain made those seeds sit in the ground until June and then they slowly grew but June was unseasonably cool and wet too! And then bam! The heat and the sun came and I was hopeful as the turnip took off - took off all right! Right to seed!

The good news is now is the time to start planting for a fall harvest! Watch my vlog
