Mar. 27/11 Senga's Vlog What to Look For In A Weak Beehive - Spring Check
Today we are checking up on our beehives to confirm who made it and who didn't. For the past few weeks hive #2 on our edible green roof did not have a lot of bees coming in and out of the hive during warmer weather. Hive #1 was teeming with activity - see my previous vlog of Feb. 26/11. So in the hive I went to look for evidence of a failing hive.
I cracked open the top box and very few bees were on the frames. The lower box had a small cluster. But when I pulled out a couple of frames there was still alot of honey left from the winter. Watch my vlog to see what else you look for in a weak hive and what you can do to rescue it.
