Onions are considered a chefs essential ingredient in the kitchen - we always have bags of them in the cupboard. They should be planted first thing in the spring - as soon as the frost is gone from the soil. Expect to harvest by early -summer for tender green onions. Planting depth and lots of water is important to produce the best onions.
