April 6/11 Senga's Vlog Feeding Your Bees in Early Spring
Today we are continuing feeding our bees on our edible green roof. Mid March I started with a mixture of 2:1 sugar syrup. This helps the bees with extra carbohydrates for energy as well a building honeycomb and raising babies now that the queen has started to lay eggs in the hive.
Also I have to medicate them for nosema which is like dysentry for bees. Bees won't poop in their hive so they have been cooped up all winter and this gut disease can make for a very messy situation and weaken the hive if not caught.
Watch my vog for feeding and treating in early spring as part of beekeeping maintenance.
